This week is kind-of-beach-week. I dedicate the first three weeks of each month to the indoor side of the game and reserve the fourth week for beach-focused discussion. However, since I’m in the middle of the Athletes Unlimited season, I’m still adding that indoor content this week. The beach side is going to get 2 posts, not 3 this week. Sorry!

I’ve talked about using the Triangle framework on the beach in previous posts. December’s Beach Week focused more on Terminal Serving; in January we focused on First Ball, and in February we rounded out the Triangle with a Transition focus. Today we’ll look at a particular match where a Terminal Serving Strength was a primary factor in a team’s win.

This article will be behind the paywall, and bonus, so will be the link to our March premium workshop, which is a setting Q&A with two of the best to ever wear a USA jersey: Alisha Childress and Carli Lloyd. The session will be 6-7pm Eastern (5pm Central) tonight (March 31 if you’re reading this on another day). I’ll kick things off with a few discussion points and video clips, and we’ll have plenty of opportunity for Q&A to get your questions answered. We’ll aim less macro/tactical and more individualized about setting keys and the process of mastering this difficult position.

Also, in the spirit of the AU Causes program, I’ll donate all subscriber revenue from now through March 31 to Give Directly. So now is a great time to go premium!
