This is a less-fancy, but possibly even more useful extension to the recent article:
It’s fun to think about what you would do with a bunch of money, but it’s not always big splashy purchases that make the biggest impact for your training, so here’s what you can do on the cheap to upgrade your practices immediately.
Painter’s Tape ($10)
I love painter’s tape and use it constantly. I mark down targets for passing, for digging, for setting. I put down guidelines for base defensive positioning and for passing. I put down targets along the net for hitting windows. Basically, painter’s tape allows you to either:
Add a constraint.
Add an external cue.
We like both of those things. Get some painter’s tape. I like blue, but just get a color that contrasts with your court.
Sewing Elastic ($10)
Sewing elastic is also super-handy and cheap. Of course, lots of you are probably already using it for serving:
But it’s got some good other uses as well, such as to add some variety to doubles games like Tennis.
