Luka Slabe Q&A
Last week we had a subscriber-only Q&A with Luka Slabe. We talked pre and off-season training. Relevant now with the NCAA in spring season, but we also linked in to topics for club and high school school coaches- such as small group tutoring.
Some takeaways from attendees:
MM: I appreciated his openness in sharing, and sincere investment in the health of his players, both physically and emotionally.
A big topic was recovery in response to training. How to drive improvement but make sure your players in physically prepared to do so.
PW: loved the idea of a "pre-practice appetizer" of a few video clips that coaches are sending athletes to watch before the session. These videos show brief examples of the best in the world performing a particular skill that the players can digest before practice.
Similar to the idea of flipping the classroom.
PM: With only 15 days to work do not rush through what we might be working on during that time span. Also team building, year around process not just during season.
Luka constantly emphasized not rushing and making sure the players absorbed one concept before moving on.
